About this plan
Bogotá moves to the rhythm of reading. The city has such an active literary scene that it is easy to find free plans almost any day of the week. Book launches, poetry readings, open discussions, independent fairs, and book clubs open to the public fill the calendar. The lineup comes from public libraries, universities, independent bookstores, cultural centers, and community groups that take over parks and plazas to bring literature closer to everyone.
The best part is that you do not need to spend money to enjoy a great literary experience in the city. Many events are organized by the District, others by small publishers or the community itself, and they tend to feel close, conversational, and low on protocol. If you like to read, write, or just listen, there is always something that fits what you are looking for in Bogotá.
What to expect
- Book launches and talks at independent bookstores in downtown and Chapinero
- Open air poetry readings in parks and plazas across the city
- Book clubs open to the public at public libraries and universities
- Independent book fairs with free cultural programming
- Creative writing and storytelling workshops run by Bogotá collectives
