About this plan
If you enjoy chess and want to sharpen your game, this free workshop in Bogota is for you. Titled "Que no te quiten la pieza," the Biblioteca Pública El Mirador invites you to a session for anyone who already knows the basics and wants to defend with purpose.
The event is part of BibloVacaciones, a BibloRed program that turns the city's libraries into spaces for play and learning during school breaks. The focus here is simple. Attack is important, and so is protecting your pieces.
During the session you will explore different ways to respond when your opponent makes a threat. You will practice moving a piece, blocking the attack, capturing the attacker, or building a bigger threat that forces them to retreat. All of it happens through short challenges and quick games that ask you to pause, look at the board, and pick the best defense.
